A well-known Canadian painter, Paul Lecor (aka: Tex Lecor; aka: Paul Lecorre) was born in St. Michel de Wentworth, Quebec (about 80 km northwest of Montreal) and lives in Terrebonne, Quebec (a Montreal suburb). He was a popular French language singer, songwriter, humorist and TV and radio personality before becoming mostly a full-time painter in the early 1980s.

His mediums include acrylic, oil paint and serigraph. His subjects include portraits, figures, nudes, genre*, still life, landscapes, marine scenes, Quebec village scenes, humor, the Inuit* and social commentary. His styles could be described as Fauvism*, Modernism* and Realism*. The askART images are excellent illustrations of his oeuvre.

Lecor owns and pilots his own plane which he uses for frequent trips to the Canadian north. Many Lecor paintings depict scenes of Arctic life. There are currently two illustrated in askART images – BAIE UNGAVA and LES CHASSEURS (The Hunters).
